CENTRE CHOC
Atelier Presse Papier (Québec, Canada)

"Le futur c'est maintenant" by Aline Beaudoin and Denis Charland, 76 x 191 cm, 2010
CENTRE CHOC touring exhibition
The exhibition CENTRE CHOC presents twelve artistic and human encounters that explore the theme of the clashing of ideas, emotions, signs and symbols. The artists have all used different means of expression, and the divergent testimonies of the works explore duality, collision, social struggle, clash of cultures, intergenerational confrontation, darkness and power, as well as fragility, complicity, balance, justice, nature, play and tolerance.
Twenty-five artist members of Presse Papier agreed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the workshop by accepting the challenge of working together, either in pairs or threesomes, on the same work of art. They reveal both the current artistic concerns and the new artistic tendencies from which printmaking draws its strength and importance.

"ERINDRING"
The artists association RIIMFAXE
.jpg)
RIMFAXE unfolds the phenomenon ’remembrance’ thematically and artistically at the exhibition by the same name. The exhibition is a continuation of the exhibition that RIMFAXE presented at Kunstpavillionen in Munich April 2011.Research into memory shows that a recollection is not a clear and finished picture. Remembrance is an ongoing process that depends on the age of the remembering person, the surroundings, and new memories built on top of earlier ones. All the time new aspects are added, others disappear. Memory is a process of rewriting. The exhibiting artists are Ole Akhøj, Anne Bjørn, Malone Dietrich, Bärbel Hische, Steen Kjær Jacobsen, Jens Chr. Jensen, Monika Linnert, Maiken Monnerup, Karin Ohlsen, Matthias Oppermann, Birgitte Ramskov, and Marian Smit. More information: www.riimfaxe.com

INQUIRY
Kirsten Rotbøll Lassen and Hanne Linde
Painting by Kirsten Rotbøll Lassen: Uden titel
(size 70 x 220 cm)
The artists Kirsten Rotbøll Lassen and Hanne Linde stage a meeting between two seemingly opposite artistic expressions at INQUIRY. On one hand Hanne Linde's organic forms, which circle around the concepts of space, light, transparency, and texture expressed in very different media. On the other hand there is Kirsten Rotbøll Lassen's tighter and more sober lines where a cool laboratory-like atmosphere is felt. With the window as a continuous motif in her paintings Kirsten Rotbøll Lassen moves on the border of the absract and the figurative painting.

ONESHOT (Curated by Jesper Elg, V1 Gallery)
+ SØREN SOLKÆR STARBIRD (Selected works from CLOSER).jpg)
Photo by Søren Solkær Starbird: Björk
The photo exhibition ONESHOT, curated by Jesper Elg from the V1 Gallery, shows a selection of about fifty different photos by as just many different Danish as well as foreign photographers. The exhibition 'Oneshot' is in short a collection of maladjusted single photos without anything else in common except the fact that they belong to the general artistic practice of photography. Søren Solkær Starbird (b. 1969) had his international breakthrough long time ago and he has become one of the preferred photographers of the rock stars and has focused on various names and faces such as Paul McCartney, The White Stripes, and Björk. A series of his iconic rock photos from his highly praised exhibition CLOSER are also shown at Kunstpakhuset.

The exhibition 'HEDE' shows works of art by Beinta Av Reyni, Linda Bjørnskov, Anna Odell, and Anna Fro Vodder. The four artists relate to the word 'hede' in different ways at the exhibition. They operate with the word by using different meanings and with different formal artistic views. For instance Beinta Av Reyni who uses 'hede' in her works as landscape as well as mythical framework for stories and ideas. Linda Bjørnskov uses the word 'hede' as something warm in a series of pictures inspired by representations of Africa. The artists' different artistic languages and expressions are ranging from the figurative and super naturalistic to the abstract and poetic.

Peter Carlsen
APRÈS NOUS LE DÉLUGE.jpg)
Exhibitionposter by Peter Carlsen
PETER CARLSEN PORTRAYS THE DANISH ZEITGEIST
The exhibition ‘Aprés nous le déluge’ focuses on the Danish zeitgeist and presents painting, graphics, and ceramics by Peter Carlsen. The works by the artist appeal to cheerful and current reflection on the zeitgeist, Danish values, and national self-knowledge. Peter Carlsen's artistic errand is something as old-fashioned as producing narrative and temporary history painting. At the exhibition he presents both historic-mythological and recent stories about Denmark. His ceramic works tell the audience about the Nordic figurative world of mythology and its ideas of Armageddon. It is primarily the exuberant consumerism and lavishness of the present, its political and patriotic stories that are told in his paintings and graphic works. Part of the works of the exhibition is sketches and preliminary works for his monumental history painting 'Denmark 2009' for the Frederiksborg Castle 2009.
